About Auditions + Portfolios
Some JMC Academy courses require a portfolio or audition as part of the application process. Below are specific guidelines for each program that requires additional submissions.
Music Performance
Applicants are required to prepare an audition, which can be performed in person or submitted via video. This audition should demonstrate musical skill and style that aligns with the applicant’s intended study area.
Songwriting
Applicants need to submit either an audition or a portfolio that highlights their original songwriting abilities. This submission can be in the form of recordings, lyrics, or other evidence of songwriting experience.
Music Production
Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing their production work. This portfolio may include samples of original compositions, remixes, or other production projects that best represent their skills and style.
Acting
Applicants for Acting need to prepare an audition of two monologues, which should be filmed and submitted via email, Google Drive, or YouTube:
Music Theatre
Music Theatre applicants are required to prepare an audition video that demonstrates three main aspects: Acting, Singing, and Dancing. Each segment should be filmed and submitted via email, Google Drive, or YouTube link.
Game, Animation, and Design
Applicants need to submit a portfolio showcasing their creative work in the relevant field. This may include sketches, character designs, animations, 3D models, or other projects that reflect their skills and creativity.
Once your application has been submitted, the International Admissions team will provide you with further guidelines for your audition/portfolio.
