Meet Our Outstanding Nominees

Lewis Mitchell (Audio Graduate & Mentor)
Since graduating from JMC, Lewis has carved out a reputation as one of Australia’s top producers and mix engineers. His impressive portfolio includes collaborations with global artists such as A$AP Rocky, Anderson .Paak, The Kid LAROI, and The Weeknd. His technical expertise and creative vision have earned him nominations in two highly competitive categories: Recording Engineer of the Year and Breakthrough Producer of the Year.

What makes this recognition even more special is that Lewis has returned to JMC, where he now mentors the next generation of audio professionals through our Producer Integration course. His real-world industry insights offer invaluable guidance to students aspiring to follow in his footsteps.

Chris Doherty (Audio Lecturer)
With over 20 years of experience in the audio industry, Chris Doherty’s career is a masterclass in versatility and excellence. He has contributed to projects for renowned artists such as Coldplay, Snoop Dogg, and Boyz II Men, showcasing his exceptional skills in recording and mixing. Chris’s dedication to audio craftsmanship has earned him a well-deserved nomination for Recording Engineer of the Year. As a lecturer, he brings this wealth of experience directly into the classroom, inspiring students to push creative and technical boundaries.

Daniel Natoli (Audio Guest Lecturer)
Daniel Natoli is a true audio visionary whose career spans across music production, live sound, film composition, and beyond. His innovative approach and commitment to the pure artistry of sound have garnered him a nomination for Recording Engineer of the Year. Daniel's academic and professional journey, marked by collaborations with high-profile clients and independent artists alike, makes him a dynamic force in the industry and an inspiring figure for JMC students.

🎶 Michael Carpenter (Audio Lecturer)
A prolific artist, producer, and an early adopter of Dolby Atmos mixing, Michael Carpenter’s career spans over 30 years. His work includes multiple Golden Guitar nominations and countless collaborations, solidifying his reputation as one of Sydney’s most in-demand producers. This year, Michael is nominated for Self-Producing Artist of the Year, celebrating his ability to seamlessly blend artistic creativity with technical mastery. His dedication to both his craft and his students exemplifies the spirit of JMC.
