Entertainment Management Students Get an Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Look at Kylie Minogue’s Tension Tour

At JMC Academy, we’re all about hands-on industry experiences, and a few of our Entertainment Business Management (EBM) students recently had the opportunity of a lifetime!

On Sunday, 2nd March, five lucky trimester 1 Entertainment Management students attended an exclusive Tech Tour for Kylie Minogue’s Tension Tour at Qudos Bank Arena, thanks to the Australian Live Industry Alliance (ALIA). The tour provided an up-close look at the stunning lighting design, crafted by renowned designer Rob Sinclair and supplied by Chameleon Touring Systems.

Guiding the students through this immersive experience was Lighting Director Jose Lorenzo, who generously spent nearly two hours sharing insights into his technical and creative choices for the tour. With an impressive career spanning major global productions (check out his credits here), Jose provided invaluable advice and inspiration to our students.

The experience didn’t end there - Jose went a step further, gifting two students with tickets to Kylie’s concert that evening, allowing them to witness his work in action.

This kind of real-world exposure is what makes studying at JMC Academy so unique. Our students don’t just learn about the entertainment industry; they step directly into it. A huge thank you to ALIA, Jose Lorenzo, and everyone involved for making this experience possible!
