Recently, JMC Brisbane Entertainment Business Management Student @emmabeeston_ from @gather.group_was given the opportunity to work with @thisisart_____
Innovating and collaborating with Brisbane's THIS IS ART x OWLET allowed for an event that blew away the art scene and made waves in the industry space. Showcasing local artist OWLETs with her FOLLOWING FEATHERS Exhibit, “Art with a soundtrack” took on a definition, an unconventional dynamic showcase of art, film, fashion, lighting and music. Stimulated by sound and visual works of art, the showcase of painted models, a short film, immersive presentation, collaboration fashion show and inventive DJs throughout the night wowed the SOLD-OUT audience.
This zero-waste event followed an innovative COVID safe plan and was held in the unconventional Vacant Assembly in West End. Reinventing the way events operate post-COVID, Emma experimented with the use of developing a walk-through flow pattern floor plan rather than having attendees sit down for the entire event and miss out on the opportunity to be immersed in the work for a more natural gallery effect.
Want to study Entertainment Business Management at JMC?
As an active member of the JMC Community, Emma has contributed to numerous events, with 2020 alone bringing her the opportunity to lead as a production manager during JMC’s Partnership with Remix Hotel. Learning a lot from both her involvement in THIS IS ART and Remix Hotel; Emma has been able to expand on her real-world experiences within the industry and advance as an Entertainment Business Management student. Not only was this event run by a student, but more of the JMC community also became involved as other students like Emily Taylor and Ellie Vane-Tempest volunteered.
GATHER.group is asking you to keep your eyes open – something new and exciting is going to be announced very soon! If you’d like to be a part of this project, contact Emma on Emma@gatheruofront.com or head to her socials to follow her progress and her postings for future opportunities.
