Picture this: a room humming with curiosity, headphones around necks, and ideas bouncing between eager minds. That’s JMC Brisbane’s Audio Hour in action. Held every Wednesday at JMC Brisbane, this unique event is where students, staff, and industry professionals come together to sync up, fine-tune their skills, and celebrate the art of sound.

But above all of the noise, Audio Hour is also about connection. It’s where future audio engineers, music producers, and sound designers gather to swap ideas and explore the emerging trends in Australia's ever evolving Audio Industry.  

Every Audio Hour is a testament to the diversity of talent at JMC. You’ll hear everything from immersive soundscapes and game audio to radio-ready tracks and experimental pieces that defy genre. The room hums with excitement as students showcase their unique voice in the world of sound. There are also plenty of opportunities to win awesome prizes (from premium audio tech brands including ADAM Audio, Novation and Sonarworks) at the Audio Hour Mix Competition, where students from all study levels are invited to enter their mix of a track! 

While it’s rooted in the audio program, Audio Hour is open to anyone at JMC with an ear for sound or a curiosity for collaboration. Any JMC Brisbane student, from Film and Television students exploring soundtracks, Music students honing their mixing skills and even Animation students experimenting with Foley effects, are welcome.
