G’day JMC! We’re back at it again on the partnership front, this time with the true blue legends from Guts Touring! It’s an honour to be a part of the GUTS adventure as Exclusive Tertiary Education Partner - GUTS is all about enriching our beautiful country through music education and so are we!

As an extra special component to this year’s tour, JMC will be hosting some ~bonza~ activations and workshops in local schools as Guts ventures through the regional towns of Victoria! With many students at our Melbourne campus hailing from regional VIC, we’re feeling proud as punch and itching with curiosity to explore the beaut places from whence they’ve come! We’ll be bringing our years of experience (plus some of our awesome students!) on the road to get involved with the workshops and events themselves. What a way to have a wander around our own backyard!

Guts Touring draws their inspiration from the Warumpi Band and Midnight Oil’s iconic 1986 ‘Black Fella/White Fella’ tour through Central Australia, where the plug-in-and-play ethos of the world renowned Aussie pub rock scene shone at possibly its brightest EVER. As their big yellow bus traverses the rolling hills and red dirt of Australia, the Guts team strive to bring no frills, inclusive, beaut music to Aussies who might not otherwise have access. Aside from some rockin’ gigs, Guts will also be running workshops aimed to bring more music into the lives of their participants. Expect lessons in music making, songwriting and creative industries from some of the country’s best, in the places you’d least expect!

Make sure to keep track of the Guts tour dates and let your regional mates know where to catch the gigs and workshop events. Every date will be hosting different legendary Aussie acts, so depending on where you are you might get the chance to catch a pub gig from your favourite band!
