After an incredible first year (nay - season) at JMC Academy’s Melbourne campus, we are proud to announce that Music Theatre will be making its way to Sydney commencing in February 2025!  

With an explosion in productions and box office sales for Musical Theatre in Australia and globally, the demand for well trained artists has never been greater. In an industry that is constantly evolving, JMC’s acting course has always incorporated unique and dynamic learning experiences designed to position our students for success in whatever specialisation they may choose. Our newest course comes as further acknowledgement of our students’ appetite to diversify and specialise in their field of choice. Now couldn’t be a more perfect time to introduce the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting) with a Major in Music Theatre to our Sydney campus! 

Launched in Melbourne in February 2024, Music Theatre at JMC is an accelerated 2 Year performance-focused degree that incorporates the disciplines of musicianship, physical theatre and dance to provide students with a complete mental and physical comprehension and appreciation for their craft. With a key focus on learning the principles of acting for music theatre, film, theatre, television and new media, the course gives students the diverse range of skills and the confidence required to launch a sustainable career in Acting and Music Theatre.

The course’s strong focus on practical opportunities, sees students completing a performance piece in every trimester of study. These performances range from intimate showcases to full staged productions in professional theatre spaces, directed and choreographed  by music theatre industry professionals  with a Graduate Showcase performed to casting agents, directors and talent managers. Our Melbourne students are already walking the walk and showcasing what an incredible course this is, putting on a full run musical in just their second trimester.
