JMC Academy, Australia’s Academy of Creativity is excited to launch a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting) in Melbourne and Brisbane, expanding the successful undergraduate Acting qualification nationwide.
The program, run in collaboration with the Academy of Film, Theatre and Television, expands on JMC Academy’s already extensive course offerings in Game Design, Animation, Film & Television, Music, Audio and Design, and allows for cross course collaboration within all areas of the Creative Industries. The course has been developed by industry leading experts as an address to an everchanging and constantly diversifying performing arts sector within Australia’s creative landscape, taking a contemporary and career driven approach to higher education in performance.
Leading this exciting new program is Glen Hamilton, Head of Acting at the Academy of Film, Theatre and Television. Glen is an experienced director, producer, educator and arts professional with experience directing over 100 shows including everything from small independent shows to a range of fringe and festival productions. He notes that “By introducing Acting under the umbrella of JMC’s teaching areas, our Acting students will gain valuable experience in a large range of new and emerging performance platforms, creating a dynamic and multi-disciplinary approach to learning. This approach ensures students graduate with the contemporary skills and knowledge that allows them to move with confidence between a variety of performance media, locations and contexts as they pursue a professional and sustainable career in Acting.”
Intakes for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting) will commence on JMC Academy’s Melbourne campus in February and the Brisbane Campus in June, 2022. Learn more about this exciting new course here.
